Ladislav Patkoló(1986)

Started his musical education as four years old at the Elementary Music School in Topoľčany under Anna Drahošová and continued at the Private Conservatory of Dezider Kardoš in Topoľčany under Milan Pacovský. In 2006 he was admitted to the Academy of Performance Arts in Bratislava (VŠMU), where he studied on bachelor’s and master’s degree in the class of Ida Černecká and Magdaléna Bajuszová. During his studies at VŠMU, he attended through the Erasmus Programme the Royal Academy of Music, Aarhus, Denmark, where he obtained valuable experience in the class of Anne Øland. He continued to study at VŠMU also throughout the doctorate degree under the supervision of Ida Černecká and successfuly defended the degree artis doctor.


Patkoló participated from early youth at national and international competitions with great success – he became laureate of the International Piano Competition Košice (1994, 1997, 2006), the Youth Piano Festival of Ján Cikker (1995), the Piano Festival of Dezider Kardoš (1996), International Piano Competition AMADEUS (1998), International Smetana Piano Competition (2002), Concorso primavera (2000), Piano Competition of Slovak Conservatories (2002, 2004, 2006) and was a finalist at the Animato Stiftung competition (2008).


Ladislav received the Award of the Rector of VŠMU for outstanding academic performance and representation of the university in artistic activities, Award of Ján Beták (Cena Jána Betáka) and Memorial Deed of Saint Gorazd (Pamätný list svätého Gorazda) awarded by the Ministry of Education of the Slovak Republic to outstanding students.


He participated in masterclasses given by renowned pianists and teachers such as Irina Osipova, Valentina Berman, Ivan Klánský, Patrizia Prati, Viera Fischer and Drahomíra Biligová. He collaborated with the Slovak Television, Slovak Radio, Slovak State Philharmonic Orchestra Košice, Slovak Sinfonietta Žilina under the baton of conductors such as Douglas Bostock and Oliver Dohnányi. Ladislav has appeared as a soloist and critically acclaimed chamber musician across the Europe (Czech Republic, Hungary, Austria, Switzerland, Italy and Denmark).


He is currently engaged as teacher at the Department of Keyboard Instruments of Music and Dance Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts, and also at the Elementary Music School of Julius Kowalski in Bratislava.
